Within this project I was looking into Jiro Horikoshi and his contribution to the creation of the Japanese fighter aircraft for WWII - Mitsubishi A6M Zero. I wanted to capture the story of Jiro Horikoshi through the development of the aircraft via a series of posters. The poster set depicts the rise and fall of the passion that Jiro Horikoshi experienced. Starting with the creation of the A6M Zero, the passion behind the design and the significant aeronautical engineering advancement for the time was thriving, represented through the heart beat and illustrated aircraft being developed. Over time, seeing the final product and that it is being used for mass destruction took away from the engineering achievement, and as a result, over the aircrafts lifespan Horikoshi began to dislike what he had created and didn't agree with its uses in war, shown through the destruction of the aircraft and the reduction of heart beat.
